Makenna’s College Grad/Headshot Studio Session in Blacklick

Makenna reached out to me to do some photos to celebrate her college graduation from The Ohio State University. She really wanted to do a studio session, so I scheduled some time at Clay Studios in Blacklick, Ohio. This was my first session in the studio and it was SO FUN! Such a different vibe than my regular sessions, but I really loved it!

Makenna brought her cap, gown and stole that she will be wearing at her graduation from The Ohio State University. She also brought a bouquet of flowers and several outfits. We had so much fun using her props in different ways. Makenna had a few ideas of her own coming in to the session. I had prepped ahead of time and had some ideas as well. We worked together and came up with some other great ideas on the fly! It was so fun collaborating for some really creative shots! We had a total of one hour in studio, but the final result was a multitude of images for her to remember this momentous occasion in her life!

Makenna’s Momma was with us too! It doesn’t matter how old you are…having your Momma around is a gift and it was so sweet to see how her Momma helped her get ready in each outfit. You’re never too old for help from your Momma or too old to celebrate with your Momma!

Clay Studios is a natural light studio with a couple different rooms you can book. The one we used is called The Pearl. The Pearl has a Cyclorama wall, lots of furniture including a sectional, several tables, several stools, a mirror and a few other items. There is also a place to hang clothing. So many options to create different scenarios for pictures. The studio is very neutral, so it will look good with any type of clothing. Blacklick, Ohio is a great area near Columbus, so it’s very convenient as well. Lots of options for a yummy meal after your session.

Makenna, thank you so much for trusting me to capture these memories for you! I had a great time with you and your Momma! I’m so proud of your accomplishments! From a cheerleader on the squad I coached for Little Raiders to a college graduate! It’s been an honor watching you grow up and so much fun seeing all your success!
